Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho recovered from a back injury to score a wonder goal for Brazil on Thursday evening.

The injury has kept Coutinho out of Liverpool’s first three games this season, but the 25-year-old was called-up to the Brazil squad for two World Cup qualifiers.

The recovery raised eyebrows on Twitter, with Britain’s Team GB Olympic gold medal-winning hockey player Samantha Quek calling it a “miracle.”

Brazil doctor Michael Simoni said earlier this week that the injury was more mental, than physical, according to an Esporte interview quoted by Goal.com.

Simoni added that the stress was caused by his uncertain future, as Liverpool rejected a series of big-money offers from Barcelona. The latest, a £118 million ($152 million) offer that included a number of add-ons, was rejected on August 18.

"All he needed was somebody to give him a pep talk," Simoni said.

That pep talk proved to be successful because Coutinho played a key role in Brazil's 2-0 victory over Ecuador at Arena do Grêmio in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

He even scored Brazil's second goal - an awesome display of one-two football as he combined with Gabriel Jesus. You can watch the wonder goal here, right before he broke down in tears.

Barcelona could test Liverpool's resolve with one final offer before the La Liga transfer window closes on Friday evening.

Brazil is next in action on Tuesday when the team travels to the Estadio Metropolitano in Barranquilla to take on Colombia.
